COMPETITION CLASSES

Irish Dance is an amazing sport that provides dancers with countless opportunities to see the world, and meet talented, driven boys and girls their own age.  Dancers can compete as a team and/or individually.   Our dancers have qualitied for and competed in Local, Regional, National, and World Championships with much success!

Why Competition?

In addition to providing the obvious skills of goal setting and stage presence, dancers who compete develop invaluable life lessons, such as:

  • Strong Work Ethic
  • Humility in Success
  • A Healthy Body Image inspired by their unique strengths!
  • Good Sportsmanship
  • Teamwork
  • Posture
  • Self-esteem & Self-confidence
  • Stress Management
  • Time Management
  • How to Communicate with Adults

At Burke Connolly Irish Dance, our focus is to instill the confidence, self-awareness and goal setting and achieving skills necessary for success in all aspects of life. Co-Founders, Emma Burke, TCRG, and Erin Connolly, TCRG accomplish this by: building a high level of trust with their students; requiring accountability; and training dancers to mentally “stay in the moment” during practice so that they shine on stage.

The Burke Connolly Academy of Irish Dance is the only accredited Irish dance school in Atlanta taught by International Champion Irish dancers, including a World Medal Holder.  Since its founding, the Academy has become one of the top Irish Dance facilities in the Southeast.
